Objectives

The participant:

• Get to know the reference architectures for AWS and can apply them independently after this training.
• Focuses on the practical application of AWS reference architectures.
• Learn how to build and use highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions using AWS.
• Master the AWS concepts of our reference architecture related to “Compute, Database, Storage, Networking, Monitoring & Security.”
• Will apply the knowledge received in practical exercises to consolidate know-how about AWS services in the BMW ecosystem.

• Tooling / Technical Setup.
• Reference Architectures @BMW.
• Practical exercises for Reference Architecture Components (ECS, RDS, IAM, VPC, …).
• Guiding Principles.
• Security / Monitoring.
• Focus: Hands-On exercises step by step.

Target Group

• This course is for partners who have first experiences with the public Cloud and want to practical the usage of BMW’s Reference Architectures for AWS.

Personal Prerequisites:

• BMW Level Cloud Beginner:
  • WBT - Cloud Basic 1 (ITEM_9175).
  • WBT - BMW Cloud Basic 2 AWS (ITEM_67051).
• BMW Level Cloud Potential:
  • XLAB - BMW Cloud Potential AWS (ITEM_37009).
• BMW Level "Cloud Associate":
  • XLAB – BMW Infrastructure as CODE (ITEM_59036).
• Be able to write and modify Source Code.
• Experiences with minimum 1 object-oriented programming language.
• Familiar to work with Command Line Interfaces.
• First experience with AWS, including a basic understanding of AWS Services (ECS, IAM, RDS, Networking).

Technical Prerequisites:

• ATC Github User is required!
• Helpful: AWS Solution Architect or AWS Developer.
