Objectives

The participant:

• Learn how to correctly install and initially configure CARMEN 4, including how to use WUSS and Intelligent Hub.
• The training also provides an overview of various tools and basic workflows in CARMEN 4, including how to create and use topologies and filters.
• Finally, participants are introduced to basic analysis functions and learn how to create simple plottings, decode message catalogs and find the right support when problems arise.

Content

• Official CARMEN installations (WUSS, Intelligent Hub).
• Overview of various tools in CARMEN 4 and basic workflows.
• Save and load configuration options, filters, and topologies.
• First topology and most important components (reading, simple filters).
• Easy analysis with Analyzer.
• Easy plotting with DiagramViewer.
• Message catalogs and payload decoding.
• Information channels, troubleshooting, support.

Prerequisites

• Training participants need their own laptop or access to a VDI with Carmen 4 installed.
• We require basic knowledge of BRIan.
• In addition, participants should be familiar with different trace file formats and know where to find them and how they are generated.
• There should also be a basic understanding of bus systems (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.).
